Master Norman Shore has been actively teaching Martial Arts for over twenty years. He has studied with the premier Canadian authorities in Taekwon-Do since his teenage years. Currently a 5th degree black belt level,, Master Shore has proven his commitment, skill, love of Taekwon-Do and teaching. He received his first black belt in 1988 from Grand Master Richard Parris who quickly became a close personal friend. Master Shore's 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Dan were awarded by Grand Master Jong Park Soo while still training under Grand Master Richard Parris.
Being a strong believer in the benefits of competition and one to thrive on challenge, Master Shore was a force to be reckoned with at tournaments. He has proven that even in Taekwon-Do, the size of your opponent does not matter. Mastering the techniques of each pattern has always been a passion for him and he maintains his desire for continued learning. This is what has led Master Shore to train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Professor Marco Costa. He is currently assistant instructor for Body of Four Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy under Professor Costa, Professor Shah Franco of Toronto, and Master Sylvio Behring of Brazil.
Master Shore has fostered a feeling of community and family wherever he has taught. It is for this reason that nearly all of his students from previous clubs followed him in his endeavours to open his own club. He opened his academy in 2008 and has been successful with integrating the club in the new community. Shore's Academy of Martial Arts is a home away from home for many of his students.
There are also many non martial arts activities that Master Shore, his wife Cynthia, and daughter Melanie arrange to help the students develop long lasting friendships with other students and to feel a part of the family.
